Gents Retain St. George’s Day Trophy!

After an emphatic win in 2009, the Superbowl Gents once again pitted their skills against the Ladies in this annual St.George’s Day Challenge Match. Held in the middle of the Club’s Internal Championships, the event still attracted a healthy turnout and each Team fielded 3 x Triples and 2 x Pairs.

On this occasion the respective Captains were different with Club Captain ( Craig Lewis ) selecting his Gents Team and the Club’s Secretary ( Marjorie Johns ) fronting the Ladies Team. Red was, as always on this special day, the predominant colour.

The Gents once again started as strong favourites but two of Marjorie’s Triples pulled off memorable victories to give the scoreline an air of respectability even though the shot difference was 27. However, it was a fiercely competitive Match and the Ladies can be proud of their efforts.
