Federation’s Objective :-

To Provide Competitive Bowling For Those Federated Bowlers Residing Within Malaga Province Over The Summer Period.

Entry Criteria :-

Teams May Be Single Sex, Or Mixed, And May Comprise Members Of The Same Club, Or From Different Clubs Within Malaga Province.

If A Team Is Made Up Of Members From Two Or More Clubs, The Team Must Nominate On Which Green They Will Play Their Home Fixtures. Once Nominated This Must Not Be Changed During The Course Of The Competition.

Format :-

Team 4 Challenge :-

A Team Will Comprise Of 4 Bowlers And, In Each Match, The Following Will Be Played :-

Game 1 : 1 X Fours Over 8 Ends.

Game 2 : 2 X Pairs Over 10 Ends.

Additional Notes :-

Trial Ends Will Be Permitted Prior To The First Game Only.

Visits To The “Head” Will Be Allowed And “Burned Ends” Will Be Replayed.

There Will Be No Further Restrictions As The Normal Laws Of Bowls Will Apply.

Teams Will Be Allowed To Enter More Members Than That Required For Their Team. This Will Allow For Absence Due To Holiday Or Unforeseen Illness.

The Format Moves Away From The Triples Concept Which Dominates Winter Events.

Dependent On The Number Of Teams Entering, This Will Create The Following Options

- The Possibility Of Two Leagues With The Top 2 In Each League “Playing Off” To

Identify Finalists, With A “Grand Final” At A Neutral Venue.

- Mini Leagues Of 4 Teams With The League Winners “Playing Off” As Above.

Competition Rules & Conditions :-

A Member May Not Play For More Than One Team.

No Player May Play On The Same Rink Twice During The Course Of Any Match.

Only 4 Players May Represent A Team In Any Match Unless Illness, Or Injury, Warrants The Use Of A Substitute Who Must Be Nominated For The Team In Question.

Scoring :-

Each Team Will Score 2 Points For Each Game Won And 1 Point For A Draw :-

Example 1 :-

A Team Winning Both Pairs Games, And The Fours, Will Score A Maximum 6 Pts.

Example 2 :-

A Team Drawing The Fours, Drawing One Of The Pairs And Winning The Other Pairs Will Score 4 Pts With Their Opponents Scoring 2 Pts.

Shots For & Against Must Be Recorded As “Shot Difference” Will Determine League Placings In The Event Of A Tie On Points Scored.

In The Event Of Shot Difference Being Identical The Cumulative Results Of The “Head To Heads” Between The Two “Tied Teams” Will Determine The Final League Placing.

Matches Will Take Place On Thursday Morning ( Start : 10.30 ), Or Evening

( Start : 18.00 ), At The Discretion Of The Host Team

( N.B. : First Games Will Take Place On Thursday, 13 May )

The Competition Winner Will Be The Team Which Accrues The Highest Points Total Over Its

8 X Matches As Per The Scoring System
