Mijas Bowls Club's Youngest Member Action Shot

MIjas BC

April 2016

Report by Christine Wilson & John Carr, photo by Eric Wilson

Mijas Bowls Club's youngest member Michael, aged 8, continues to show the kind of skills you would expect, as the latest member of the Cole dynasty. His grandmother is Pam Cole, who captained the ladies Spanish squad for many years. His uncle is Nick Cole, the current captain of the men's Spanish Squad and plays bowls to an extremely high standard. Being Spanish National Team players has taken them both around the world from
England to New Zealand via the Channel Islands, South Africa and more.

Young Michael has a lot to live up to, but even at the tender age of 8, is showing great promise.

As Pam says many games have been played, lots of friends have been made and the game of bowls is a wonderful hobby to have. If you have a young son or daughter, whatever nationality you are, who might like to join Michael to try this fascinating game of bowls, do bring him or her along one Sunday morning between 10.00am and 12.00 noon to see the club and what goes on there.  Ring our Captain, Carol, first on 952 492 434 to make sure it is a normal Sunday.  Coaching is available.  Who knows your son or daughter could be a future Nick Cole.

You will find Mijas Bowls Club situated behind the Victoria furniture showroom on the Carretera de Mijas at 1.8 kms. Turn left from Fuengirola into Camino de Cortijo Grande between the furniture showroom and the Farmacia and you will find the club about 150 metres on the left.  We look forward to seeing you.

Michael demostrates the perfect delivery!
